AMRA – CAULFIELD EXHIBITION 2013

The Exhibition is on this weekend – Saturday24th – Sunday 25th at Caulfield Racecourse Station St Caulfield East (MELWAYS 68 d1). Southern Rail will be there with plenty of stock of Fuel Depots, Explorers & Endeavours and a few good show specials. Looking forward to catching up with many of you

VIC/SA RAIL TANK CARS

As many of you are aware the Vic Rail Tank cars are running behind schedule. We have procrastinated with this project for a number of reasons but we have been mindful of substantial rising costs with the project, particularly the related tooling charge and with the fall of the Australian dollar by around 15% or true at our buy in US$ cost, around 11% which would have caused us to drop our already skinny margin with this project or once again increase the price.

Neither of these options was acceptable to the management of Southern Rail so we made the decision last weekend to move the project to our other factory where we have been quoted a much lower tooling and a lower unit price.

Removal has been completed and tooling has commenced already. We expect to see the test shots in 4 weeks & then have a very quick production turnaround time

We are happy with this supplier as they are the producer of our very wonderful  VAK/VGK coal & wheat hoppers and the ALY’s ( which arrived incidentally in Australia this week).

We sincerely apologise for the delay & not having them available at Caulfield

FUEL DEPOT

The fuel depots have arrived and all orders have been dispatched. We have experienced a slightly higher than normal stock damage through Australia Post with these beaut models which do have a lot of delicate formations with the hand rail, walkways etc. I believe SR will make a conscious decision to only sell these at Exhibitions. So if you want one at Caulfield now is the time to buy the model this weekend.

This is a very finely detailed and crafted model with a very comprehensive decal sheet to suite everyone. Price $275.00.

ALY’s

The ‘ALY’s have arrived in Australia but due to our commitments with the Caulfield Exhibition next weekend we will not be able to take delivery until the 29^th August. Invoicing will commence as soon as we return from Melbourne

V/locities

Work is progressing on the Vlocity sets. We are still going through a number of corrections but our experience with the Xplorers/Endeavours is allowing Southern Rail to produce an even finer model. Further updates as they occur.
