Can’t remember when I have been as frustrated as I am at the moment with every single project running behind schedule
XPLORER / ENDEAVOUR
Despite pre Chinese New Promises of an immediate start after CNY this has not occurred. After a big kick up the a… today we are now scheduled to start the first week of April. This will mean a May delivery and a most likely release at Epping MRC June Exhibition. We are doing our best I can assure you.
In breaking news after many requests to make the advertised 2 car “Broken Hill” set a three car set we have decided that that is exactly what we should do. So now it is a 3 car set with a dedicated & matching car number for the middle car. At the same time, given the interest in this set we have decided to make it a Limited Edition set, limited to only 50 sets with a certificate of authenticity. Since announcing this on our face book page there are less than 15 sets available. If you want one of these unique sets which were converted from Endeavour Cars with all pop out doors, you need to place an order real soon.
VICTORIAN 45’ RAIL TANK CARS & VLOCITIES
Unfortunately the delay with the Xplorers has a flow on effect for both these projects. We are now considering making a super run of tank cars to include the Ampol Block train & Freight Australia versions in one run with the Victorian Wagons but the Victorian tank cars will definitely not make their scheduled May delivery.
As we work this production issue out we will advise more details & a delivery date.
We may be jumping the gun a little but in reality, since all these projects are coming from the one factory we consider it highly likely that the Vlocities will not make the Caulfield Exhibition. This is as disappointing to us as it will be to our customers. However, when we have real news we will let you know. Don’t give up hope for Caulfield yet.
QR – ‘ALY’ STEEL LOUVRED VAN
It is also disappointing to advise that we will not have the ALY vans for Brisbane Exhibition in May. Again the project is running behind schedule because we have made it more comprehensive than our original concept, with tooling only commencing next week. The factory is working very closely with us. The tooling will be completed in super quick time & production will commence in around two – three weeks. Allowing for all the usual issues & wanting to see painted samples before production commences. one can see that it is impossible to have stock here for the Exhibition. We will however have a very comprehensive range of boxed samples.

2300 / DFZ CLASS
Work has commenced on the 2300 / DFZ class loco. We have placed this project with an additional factory so as not to be constrained by other production issues. However, with the delays we are experiencing with the other projects we also have to live within our financial responsibility. In addition we want the project, now with 7 versions to be spot on so we have taken the pressure of this factory to have the project to us by September and rescheduled for an expected May 2014 Brisbane Exhibition release. Earlier if all is smooth sailing
OVERHEAD STANCHIONS & GENERIC FUEL DEPOT
Both the stanchions & the Fuel Depot are in production but behind our original delivery date. Both have experienced some issue.
“Transit testing” was conducted on the Stanchions and some damage was found due to impact. This means that the packaging has had to be corrected to prevent this.
Delivery is now expected in May
The Fuel Depot is in a similar position. We are expecting two painted samples to be sent next week. This is primarily to check the packaging so that damage is not incurred in Transport.

Sales of the NDHF Concrete Sleeper Wagons have been brisk. NDHF 3 is almost sold out. Better harry if you want some of these mid 1980’s sets.
TULLOCK RAIL TANK CAR WEATHERING COMPITITION
Entries are now closed for the weathering competition and the finalists have been chosen. We are now waiting on the arrival of the real entries to arrive before final judging. Stay tuned for a result soon. Although the volume of entries was not overwhelming we are pleased with what we have seen.
Well that’s the news. Certainly not what we wanted to tell you but we do want to keep our customers informed.
We will be closed from the 27th of March to the 4th of April whilst we re-organize our office & warehouse & take a bit of time off over Easter.
