VISIT TO CHINA
Dear customers, friends & supporters,
I have just arrived back from a fabulous week in China visiting our manufacturers and eating real Chinese food – fabulous culinary delights.
Naturally, we get very excited about the projects that we are about to release plus the new projects for 2015 & 2016 release. We are also excited with news about the 2300 class project & the ‘L’ class project, both set down for release in 2015. I will issue a blog on these in the coming weeks.
There have been some disappointments with projects that were supposed to be in Australia by now but are not. We can only but apologise for these things which are completely beyond our control.
TRACKSIDE PRODUCTS ARE ALMOST HERE!
Our fabulous new TRACKSIDE accessories have been held up in Chinese Customs for 5 weeks due to some issues with other cargo on the truck taking our models to Hong Kong for shipment.
These have now been shipped and will land in Australia on 4th December on the Cosco Rottwedam. They will be available to us on the 9th & will be shipped to customers that day.

VLOCITY UPDATE

Somewhat disappointingly the Vlocities had not shipped when we visited the factory. The PC Boards only arrived at the factory this Wednesday and the models are being assembled as I write. As previously advised they had been all but assembled. Assembly will be completed & shipped by the 10th December on the Cosco Xiamen with a Sydney arrival date of 25th December (Good on ya Santa). That means we hope to have them, allowing for holidays on the 30th December at Port Stephens. We have put together a mighty team to get them out the door as New Year’s presents in three days.
The PC Board for this project has been a bit of a mess on the Chinese side with their understanding of our very simple requirements. The board design is basically a development of the Xplorer board (with correct wiring) – no big deal – but trying to take advantage of two unknown extra functions that are available on an ESU Loksound V4 decoder seemed to cause some misunderstanding. The use of these two extra functions in DCC mode will add significant advantages to their lighting operations. I will post more on this at a later date.
So, the design drawings and various samples with engineer’s reports went back & forth 6 times. By the time the 5th sample arrived everything was Ok except
the interior lights no longer functioned in any mode. A corrected sample was sent to the factory but unfortunately DHL, who are normally so very reliable, lost the sample. The engineers report was emailed. The corrected 6th sample arrived in Sydney some three weeks later, was confirmed as A OK immediately on arrival, to the factory. Now the fun part – waiting on the PC Board manufacturer.

NPRY CEMENT HOPPER UPDATE

We arrived at this factory on the 17th November and it was again very disappointing that assembly had not been finished and the 15th December shipping date had been missed. After much toing and froing to see if we could airship all our customer orders, at the end of the day the shipment was so large that the cost was prohibitive.

I am pleased to advise that assembly has been completed & the cargo will be on board a ship on Monday. Arrival around the 18th and to our warehouse a few days later and again we have super team organised to get the orders out the door.
VICTORIAN & SOUTH AUSTRALIAN TANK CARS
The production of this second run has been completed for some time & has been waiting to ship with the NPRY’s. Again the shipping details are as noted above along with the time frame of sending out existing orders.
