HO SCALE NSW STANCHIONS
These NSW Government Railways prototype stanchions will suit any overhead electric layout and consists of a choice of two single type stanchions (outside curve & inside curve) and one double type stanchion to suit single & double, curved or straight track. The masts are to scale dimensions. They are a plug in type and are of solid metal construction, ensuring they are able to withstand a little mishandling or accidents. They are all designed to accommodate commercially available catenary from Sommerfeldt, Fleischmann or Marklin, which will need to be soldered to the overhead wire brackets.
*The stanchions are based on the 1950’s erected H-beam designs, as employed on the Central Coast between Hornsby and Gosford and the Blue Mountains west of Penrith. They are painted light grey, however, from the 1970’s onwards virtually all of these stanchions were weathered to a dark rust-brown and the concrete bases a weathered concrete colour. Replacement masts were often dark grey in colour.
